How to lose your girlfriend in 10 seconds….

What does kate spade purse have in common with david spade ???

For all you fashionistas, were you aware that there was a connection between a certain line of accesories and mr. david spade himself?

In 1993, Kate and Andy Spade (Andy is David’s bro) launched their brand (Kate Spade – duh) with a black nylon handbag.  From there it has grown into a multi-million dollar business (how does $175million sound?)

Why do I like it?  Because their first bag sold for $155.  My first Kate Spade (perhaps better branded as Spate Kade) was purchased for a mere $15 on the streets of NY when I was only 17 – more than 5 years ago (yes a long time ago but still relative to the point).

How Scintillating :)

happy bday blog!

today is my blog’s 1st bday!

So far it’s undergone several thematic changes, had several people comment on topics, it has changed from a mostly personal blog (except for this post) and turned into somewhat of an attempt to be a technical writing forum.

Todate, there have been 3492 visitors (no my own visits don’t count!) which breaks down to an average of 9.6 visitors each day.  The max visitors was just the other day when it reached 158 hits in a day.  Not too shabby for a blog that used to manage 3-2 hits every few days.  Thanks all my readers.  Feel free to suggest things you would like to see, things you like/don’t like!

mac or pc? take the test and let me know!

You are a PC

You’re practical, thrifty, and able to do almost anything.
Appearances and trends aren’t important to you. You just like to get the job done.

Superbowl (of Doritos)

Although this commercial is 3 months old now, it’s still AMAZING!

Sticky Situation

Just when you thought your “Hump Day” couldn’t get any worse, keep in mind this man’s hump day which just happened on the 14th…..

Imagine, you live in Germany, and you’re driving down the road in your Volkswagen jamming to the “dadada” song. You look to your left and you see an old man on his roof – what is he doing you ponder (of course your inner monologue is occuring in German). This is exactly what happened…..

In Magdeburg, Germany, a 91 year old man was repairing his roof. While applying some sticky bituman, he slipped and fell essentially gluing himself to the roof. Being 91, it was hard for him to pull against the sticky trap he just created. It ended up being a rescue operation. The poor man was just trying to do some handy work, it ends up a lot of people thought he was planning to commit suicide :(

Poor Guy

Star Trek Lives!

The makers of Make magazine made a replica of the starship Enterprise complete with a detachable saucer (just don’t let your Deanna Troi replica fly the thing!) for some sweet battle action.  Gone are the days of office boredom with toys like these – the next time your computer crashes or your e-mail slows just think of yourself as stuck in a worm hole on your way to Deep Space 9.  (If you get lost you can always scrounge some supplies to make the Voyager!)

All you need is waiting for you in the company supply closet – so grab a key because all you need is 2 small paperclips, a large paper clip, a wall clip, a pinch clip, tape, and a black sharpie.

Starship Enterprise

I vote that you could make a Borg ship out of a stack of post-it’s.

So what are you waiting for?  Make your Star Trek ships!  RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!

i do love a good prank

when you’re sick there’s not too much you can do besides drink oj, sleep, and watch youtube!

why are there more UFO sightings in the US than anywhere else?

Are we on crack?  Do we need more attention? Maybe Americans are more in tune with the cosmos. Perhaps aliens want to chat about “American Idol” with real Americans. Whatever the reason, this is a hard question to crack because (attention, conspiracy theorists!) there isn’t an official site for reporting UFOs. The National UFO Reporting Center lists thousands of “close encounters” submitted by users. According to its database, the United States has far and away the most reported UFO sightings. In fact, California alone has reported more than China, England, India, and Brazil combined.

But this doesn’t necessarily mean Americans see UFOs more than other people. It just means more Americans report seeing UFOs to this particular site. The Center for UFO Studies explains, “No one is sure why the number of UFO reports varies from country to country, but cultural, religious, and political factors are probably involved.” In other words, seeing a UFO in the United States might be kind of cool. In other countries, that may not be the case.

The truth is, UFOs have been (allegedly) seen just about everywhere — from the hills of Switzerland to the coast of Australia. Should you ever spot one, the Center for UFO Studies advises you get witnesses, take pictures, and write down the details. Oh, and don’t forget to report it.
