my apologies

poor erika and maya.  my two dedicated friends who message me the most on gmail chat.  i have something to tell you (and you other 20 friends who gchat me here and there).

I have not one, not two or three, but four computers.  The computer with gchat is always on yes, no i haven’t bothered to just uninstall said messaging program either.  I don’t like the gmail notifier that i do have installed on one of the others.  I don’t like outlook either.  What I like about the gchat program is that it has an arrow where you can scroll through your new email messages and see previews one by one.  The notifier only lets you see a few previews before it disappears.  I get MUCHO email on a daily basis (no that doesn’t mean stop emailing me) and if an email pops up somewhere in that 50 that is a super high priority, I can see it came without having to go to the gmail website every 1/12 of a second.

I guess I’m telling you this bc I’m not ignoring you :)   Send me an email! On rare occasions I’m on MSN, Yahoo, or AIM.  TEXT ME!! The best bet….CALL ME!  If I don’t hear my phone ring, one of my animals ALWAYS does and either girl will get my attention.  Promise I’ll call ya back….unless your name is Erika :p

restaurant review

Where to eat when the plain restaurants just wont cut it, it’s late so you don’t want to go downtown for something real (sorry franchises you don’t rock)?

Might I suggest Momoya?

Mowhoya?  Glad you asked.  It is a Japanese restaurant called Momoya (think mom-oh-yah).

EXCELLENT sushi and they are open until 10pm on a week night.

It’s on New York St. about a mile West of Rt 59.  Just pass Fox Valley (and Commons Dr) and it’s there on the left!

Tell them I sent you and ask for extra Wasabi!

campo de mayo….my second home :)

Since it’s been nice lately (and since i teach riding lessons)….here’s where I’ve been

Cho Seung-Hui

(I have also posted this on my other blog…)

Today the identity was revealed of the man responsible for the shooting at VT.

It was a senior student named Cho Seung-Hui who recently broke up with his girlfriend (it is believed this breakup was what sparked the incident.)  He was a legal permanent resident of the US from S. Korea.  With such status in the US it was legal for him to buy a gun as long as there was no record against his name.

There was evidence to violent behavior before this incident.  He set  a dorm room on fire and was accused of stalking some women.   He was also believed to be linked to two earlier bomb threats at the school.

Several news clips state that he was a lonely person.  Isolation and emotional outrage are not a good mixture.

He shot and killed two students in his dorm (some debate about whether or not one of the deaths was his ex).  Two hours later, he walked to the Engineering building (where it was believed he was looking for his ex).  When he didn’t find her, speculation has it he was so frustrated that he just started shooting everybody, even going so far as to chain doors shut.

Unfortunately, more than 30 people had to die including Cho Seung-Hui who pulled the trigger on himself ending the slaughter.

sleepless in the chi

I am running in a race (Kingdom 5K @ CCC) in a few short days.  I have been training since…well who knows when.  I started working with a personal trainer (since November) at my favorite gym in the entire universe (XSport!) to prepare for the Parkersburg Half Marathon in late August.  I have also purchased a new pair of running shoes (about a month ago) and feel that they are properly and sufficiently broken in.

What I want to know is why in the world, if I am running running running, playing with lucy AND penelope, and taking care of pops am I unable to sleep at night?  I don’t think I’m nervous about the race – heck it’s a 5k I could run it in my sleep.  But at this rate I will be sleeping during this race if something doesn’t change!

I’m not even tired :’(
